London - day 1

Arrived at 5am this morning and after a shower and a rest MBD and I set off on the hop-on, hop-off bus. We had thought we would just stay on the bus but then decided to get off and watch the Changing of the Guard @ Buckingham Palace. Luckily there early enough for front row seats with enough to amuse us till the show began.
After that and a bit of  a stroll around, back on the bus to continue our tour of London. Next stop was near St Paul's Cathedral for lunch and a look around, then more time on the bus wih the final stop at Harrods. The Christmas windows are superb and we had a quick look through, managing to resist spending before heding home and crashing after a very long flight and sightseeing day.

Lovely to hear that you have arrived safely and what is that blue sky??? Did you take it with you from here? Fine weather for the Changing, what a bonus.Great to see the lights on at Harrods for Christmas, just reminds me so much of home!!!!!! Beats the pathetic things here hands down. Enjoy the days and the great hotels you are staying in. Sue

  2. There's a familiar cheeky face there in that crowd! I used to love merry-go-rounds, hope you had a ride for the fun of it. The lights, guards etc look sort of magical - enjoy!
