Catch up

I haven't shared much of my sewing on here lately so here is a little catch up. I only have one stitchery left to do. Here are all the ones I have done,  sorry a bit of picture overload,  I just can't make up my mind which I like best.
Maybe I love the little bees circling the beehive......
Or is it the bird bath with the doves circling overhead, I must admit I do like the butterfly on the bird bath material.

The seed packets are so cute too!

I think that these sunflowers are just gorgeous and I can certainly relate to the snails! I just can't decide which  I like best,  ALL of them!

I bought the material for the blocks today, all washed and ironed, nothing like a good breeze to get things done quickly. I am not good at picking out materials but I do love some of these!

Just a little interlude here, my petunias are flowering beautifully at the moment.

I made this little bag the other day, just because. Love the little owl zipper pull.

Last week I found these beauties, ready for a project inspired by Marina (Maisie and Boys in my side menu) pop over and see what I am going to make.

Oh well better start cutting out some borders!

The last load

Well it has been a very strenuous week and a bit but here is the last load ready to go to the tip!

So far there have been 5 loads taken off to the tip

Sometimes it can be quite interesting at the tip, these two girls came to inspect my offerings.

Ta da, drum roll please,  this is how my garden looks like now, where did those roses come from! I am very pleased with all my work ( and now very tired! ).
But at least I haven't been as idle as this fellow!

Fun sewing day

I took a break from wreaking vengeance on the weeds in my garden and went up to Launceston today  for a sewing get-together. We had a lovely day at Cathy's beautiful house - fantastic view of Launceston and no, of course I didn't take a photo, but believe me the view is spectacular.  We had such a good time with lots of eating,  talking, laughing and maybe a tiny bit of sewing.

Lots of sewing chatting going on here!

Well someone is busy working!

Plenty of food too, very yummy quiche brought by Katherine

I did do a tiny bit of sewing!

First finish for 2014

Last Saturday was my sister-in-law's 70th birthday.  We had a lovely day sitting in the sun all afternoon with some very congenial company.

I made the bag as part of her present and was very pleased that she loved it!

I also managed to get a photo of two of my brothers and me.  Pity our other brother wasn't there!

Will come back over the weekend with some before and after shots of all my work this week, garden make over.

Gardening

I have taken a week off work to tackle my very neglected and overgrown garden and it sure looks like it is going to be a superb week weather wise.

Mike brought around our shared ute last night, a bit battered but a good work horse.

Here are a few photos of what I have to tackle, hope I can bring you some great 'after' shots at the end of the week!

Looks like I have  ute load already
where do these weeds come from?
just how many times have I weeded this garden!
Has to be done, the granddog is allergic and I can't let him out in the back yard
the back corner, needs lots of work, wandering jew is all through here and it is a known problem with dogs

Hopefully this will one day be my vegie garden

Wish me luck and good weeding!
