Coles have a lot to answer for!

I went to do some grocery shopping tonight, well I suppose I do have to eat but not my favourite thing to do. Right at the front of the store were a stack of beautiful plants that just jumped into my basket.

Just loved this strawberry flower so had to buy it even though every one knows I don't do food in the garden! Now I will have to buy some more to fill the pot.

This one just begged to come home with me - at least it is non-edible. Not in the garden yet, maybe tonight. I did buy another one as well but my camera battery died before I could take a photo.

The things you do!

To think I pull these out as if they are weeds! A friend and I went to Habitat's Christmas sale tonight (ymmy champagne and nibbles!!!) and in Wellington Court there was massed display of the most beautiful aquilegias. I too could have had this in my garden J Oh well! Did I mention the bargains I bought, hmmm well they need to be kept a secret till Christmas.

My aquilegias - Granny's Bonnets, the massed display was just so much nicer.

Wow

I wandered around the garden after coming home from camp and everything is blooming, the plants are responding so well to a little bit of weeding - well OK they were smothered!
My wisteria is the best it has ever been!

This orchid was given to me by a good friend - 2 spikes this year!

Banksia rose clipped to the bone but still flowering

Double white Banksia rose

Clematis climbing the fence

Isopogon - Candy Cones - new this year and I love it!

I struck this one - it is growing well and looks so good

Don't know what this is - bought it at a fair a couple of years ago...
Just Joey - my first bloomer this year

Dug out, cut back but this creeper is still blooming

No there aren't any weeds here, poor miniature lavender it is all overgrown...

Couldn't believe my rhodohypoxis were already flowering!
Must put some more camp photos up!

March Showers

Tried to do a bit of gardening between rain showers and while wandering around found the colchium in full bloom. The common name for these is Autumn crocus and they look just like crocus only much bigger.
The rain didn't put off the bees! This one was out and about and looking for lovely nectar. What else am I missing under all the weeds!
Cleaned out the lily pond, now it is up to the leaves to climb out of the water! Everything was completely covered in a pond weed. I will need to skim it every day to try and get rid of it!
