Easter bonnets?

No, but a couple of Easter bags for two little girls.

I had so much fun making Naomi's Little Carry Bag purchased last week at Patchworks Plus that I had to make two.

The colour is a bit washed out in these photos, not my best.

I think they will make superb Easter gifts, especially with the bunnies hopping all around them!

Macaroon anyone?

No not the type you eat but this little cutey from a kit I bought at Patchwork Mariko Japan. Just big enough for my favourite thimble.

If only I lived in Melbourne I could go to their free workshop next week. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they are coming to the Tasmanian Quilt Fair in Launceston :( I love their patterns and materials.

On the buses or.......

another workplace move!

Now working in the city so it is on the bus for me. Not my favourite form of transport, especially after last Wednesday night when the bus driver woke up to that fact that a few of us were waiting to get off the bus so he slammed on his brakes. I have spent the last few days in agony with my back. So bad I took myself off to the osteopath. Hopefully he will be able to do something for me.

I had to leave behind some lovely friends I have made in the last year but hopefully will keep up contact with them. Enjoyed the farewells that were organised with friends old and new.

On the sewing front I have had a few birthdays, etc to provide for so here are my latest - seems to be a theme here! All made from my Japanese silk stash, knew it would come in handy one day. What am I going to do for a male birthday lol....

Busy weekend

Long weekend in Tassie and my brother and sister-in-law from Melbourne popped over for a visit. Not a great start to the weekend for me as I had a sore back but didn't stop me from enjoying their company. Came right on Sunday and you couldn't stop us!

Saturday night we went with friends to Warung Indonesia - the anchovies with peanuts yummmmmm.

Then on Sunday morning off to Ethos for breakfast. Not sure what to say here, company was excellent, surroundings interesting and quite well done but don't go for the food. My fruit brioche was so burnt and overcooked it was inedible, mind you I think the name was a mistake as I couldn't find the fruit either. Service was pretty slow as well. If you are just going for a coffee and have plenty of time then it is worth a visit for a look around.

The muesli and yoghurt apparently OK.

The baked eggs varied, one was so overcooked that it was not enjoyed at all.

My fruit charcoal...nice flavour if you could get past the burn and the dryness, bit like dust in the mouth. Nuts but no fruit, nicely presented, apparently this is all that is needed.

Then we wandered around the farmers market - no photos and off to St David's Park for the Huskies Picnic - love them by no NO pets for me :)

How cute are they!

Navy band provided great entertainment in the rotunda.

Lots of fun for kids!

Yesterday was spent at Ranelagh for the Taste of Huon, lazing in our chairs watching the entertainment and eating Huon produce. It is a hard life but someone has to do it.

The Wolfe Brothers on stage.

Not another one...

My great-niece Miss I has started proper school this year so I thought she should have a library bag too. I happened to have some of this lovely woodland fairy fabric by Natalie Lymer so....

Don't you just love these fairies...

Grandpa and Nonna are visiting this weekend so they can pack it in their bag for the trip back to Melbourne.

MPAY: Where you sleep

A few little pals await me when I go to bed....

Oooops looks like there was an accident here - doesn't look like a flying house to me??

Then you can wander off to Paris - into my French boudoir, with Paris purple on the wall

A few French posters on the wall (bought in Paris years ago) and a couple of cases with French scenes on them doubling as the lamp stand.

Or maybe you would rather be in China - just a glance at the bed with my Chinese quilt

and a painting I bought last time in China

Wander over to Deb's and see who else is playing this week.

It's gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was the subject line of an email I received from Vicki after she opened a little package from me. Vicki had admired my little bag I made a few weeks ago so I decided to make on for her out of my little stash of Japanese silks.

So glad you like it Vicki
