After a very long sleep, even slept in! we set off on foot for Trafalgar Square. The weather is a bit colder and it had been raining earlier but we were very lucky and the rain stayed away all day for us. After a good look around Trafalgar Square, we walked along to the household guards and were entertained by the guards on horses then a bit further along Whitehall we came across the Service of Remembrance for war widows and I surprised MBD by knowing the words to the first hymn O God Our Help in Ages Past.
Seems a packed morning but we then went onto Westminster Abbey (OK it was 1pm by then). The Abbey is just fabulous I went through last time I was in London but had to go again. The grounds out the front are full of crosses and poppies in honour of those killed in war.
We finished off the day with a cruise down the Thames from Westminster to Tower Bridge and back. Now relaxing before heading off to Phantom of the Opera - just across the road so not far to go.
Coat seems to be getting good use but where are the boots we designed? What a lot you are packing in! Fancy seeing 'The Phantom' in London, fabulous.
ReplyDeleteNov 11th is a very special day, love the poppy/crosses display. It was also the day my dad died, 30 yrs ago today so several reasons for me to remember.
Fancy still red telephone boxes!
Wait... Is that super woman entering the phone booth?
